THE JOURNEY

“Life is about the journey not the destination” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

For many this is a difficult statement to accept.  Life is about the hard work and determination to reach a favorable outcome.  This holds especially true for many Christians.  Our destination is Glory, an eternal life with our heavenly father what part of our journey could be more important.  I Believe however that the journey is as important as the destination.  The bible is full of references to how we are to live our lives as Christians.  The journey matters.  Once we have accepted Christ our destination is secure, we have all been given new lives in Christ so what are you going to do with it.   “God came that we may have life abundant” -John 10:10b

For years my family has been struggling with what God has planned for us and for Live ‘N ULTRA.  I truly believe this business is our ministry and I believe as long as we remember that the company will grow.   I also believe that we spend to much time worrying about the future.  August 5, 2005 my mom passed away.  My dad mentioned to me that his only regret was that he and my mother never travelled and visited all the places they had wanted to when she was alive.  He said for them life was about the work and they never had enough time.  He has since remarried and he and his wife vacation often. I know I’m not the perfect Husband but i stay rooted in Christ and I strive to listen to the lessons the Lord is teaching me, growing daily.  To this end, my wife and I decided starting this year we would start to enjoy the journey, to live in the fullness of the blessings God has for us.

Live ‘N ULTRA is so much more to us then just a clothing company it is a way of life and this is the beginning of our journey into that ULTRA Life.

We started with a trip to Lakeridge Winery We are not huge wine connoisseur, and i must admit i was very hesitant to go (honestly thought it would be boring), but We had a really great time, and get this It’s absolutely free! (unless you want to eat the food) We began our evening with dinner and live music outdoors beneath the shade trees. Dinner was good and the entertainment was awesome.  Despite the wine the atmosphere was very family friendly and the menu was diverse enough to meet a variety of taste.  but get there early the outdoors shuts down promptly at 4pm.  After we headed to the giftshop which lead to our self walk through tour (the tour usually takes 45 min, however the last tour doesn’t have a tour guide so you walk at your own pace.  Then we moved to the wine tasting. As i mentioned I’m not a huge fan of wine (or any alcohol actually), I have to much of a sweet tooth so the dry wines didn’t go over well, but i did enjoy the information that each of the guides had to say about the wines.  The last 2 wines were their sweetest and honestly not that bad.  We ended the evening in the gift shop where i purchased two wine glasses. I have a love for different and interesting cups so we thought it would cool if we collected cups from each of our destinations to mark our journey.  Well i believe we are off to a good start let’s see what else God has in store.
